Races
Halfling
Small, peaceful, more dangerous than they look. Starts in Rivervale.
Halflings live in the rolling green of Rivervale, follow Bristlebane (God of Mischief), and host the lowest-drama starting city in Norrath. A Halfling Druid or Ranger will out-forage, out-camp, and out-survive most other classes in the early game, and nobody on the continent wants to fight a Halfling Warrior because they don't stop.

Halflings are the universal good-side scout race. The Halfling Ranger-Druid combination is the archetype.
City of origin
Rivervale is a burrow-city in the green hills of southern Antonica, north of Misty Thicket. Trainers for all six allowed classes live here, the bank is in the central square, and the guards are friendly to almost every good-aligned race. Rivervale is the easiest good-side starting city to bind in and return to.
Rivervale connects through Misty Thicket south to Runnyeye (goblin fortress) and west to Kithicor Forest (and eventually East Commonlands).
Lore notes
Halflings are not peaceful because they are afraid. They are peaceful because they have already tried the other thing and found it less fun than fishing. On Crushbone's post-PoP era, Rivervale is the only Antonican city that has not lost territory to the major world events — a fact Halflings are quiet but unmistakably proud of.
Play note
A Halfling Druid is one of the three best new-character classes on the server. Forage, self-buffs, free port spells (at higher levels), and Rivervale as a bind city set you up to explore the rest of Norrath without ever stranding yourself.
